I N T E R V I E W :
SELF-CARE AND WELLNESS
I’m at my best when I drink enough water, avoid dairy or meat, and get enough sleep. But hey, we all know that it doesn’t always work out perfectly and everybody is different. My advice is: give yourself time to self-evaluate every now and then. Ask yourself: “What do I need to feel better?” We should consider this question and try to realize it without feeling guilty about the demands that society imposes on us.
WORDS FOR WOMEN
Start accepting yourself as you are, and other women too, because we all are beautiful in our own way.
GREATEST LESSON
There’s a great lesson in my life that I keep returning to, which allows me to find balance between my feelings, rational thoughts, and my conscience. It frustrates me quite often that many of my insights or opinions are different from those around me. It makes me doubt a lot about my own feelings. The solution I discovered is to lay down, put my hand on my stomach and chest, and listen to my inner self. This allows me to accept myself as I am.
BUSINESS LESSON LEARNED
I finally found something that I’m really passionate about. I think that’s the main thing to search for. Because I’m so passionate about creating and sharing my work, I spend a lot of time searching for quality. Be critical in what you think is beautiful, search for people in your network with knowledge you can learn from, and spend a lot of time searching for the right… everything.
BEAUTY TO ME
When I walk through Amsterdam, I see all types of people. Tall, small, or big it doesn’t interest me; it’s the colors that attract me. Colors that I see in their fashion choices, mixed with nature. I love bright colors like orange, red, and pink. It gets even more beautiful with a bohemian touch and with a big smile.
Give yourself time to self-evaluate.
MORE INNER PEACE
For years I was offered advice by many people, which I somehow ignored, but now I can say that they were right all along. Everyone told me, “Do yoga,” and finally I listened. The lessons I currently take last 90 minutes, including meditation. The length of these lessons has forced me to achieve absolute inner rest, which brought me closer to my inner self. I couldn’t escape after 60 minutes, feel good about doing something for myself, and then eat chips and chocolate on the couch. Now the challenge for me is to avoid doing floral art edits before I go to yoga. Otherwise I only see flowers, colors, and flashes of ideas when I close my eyes. Sometimes it’s nice to see all those things during meditation, but this means that I can’t let go of my daily process, and that is quite the meaning of yoga. So, if you are a restless person and you’re seeking more inner peace, try yoga and hold on for a while to the beauty inside you.

SLOW LIVING TO ME
Buying as many secondhand clothes as possible. I notice that this works better for me when I’m looking for clothes with lots of colors or a floral print. I also quit eating meat for several reasons; the older I get, the more conscious I become about food, my body, and the planet. I become aware of this list, but maintaining awareness in particular is important to me. I’m still changing my actions in life every day, little by little. I believe changes will last longer in small steps. Watching a lot of documentaries also helps me to live the “slow life.”
ADVICE FOR CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS
Always follow your own gut feeling and plan time to rest into your daily schedule. Nobody can take better care of you or know your own needs than yourself. But you need to learn to listen to your own body and mind.
GREAT ADVICE I’VE RECEIVED
I’m so happy about some recent advice to follow the daily news a little less. Sometimes I am quite sensitive to all the negative things in the world, which then cause me to worry about our lives on this planet. It felt a bit selfish in the beginning, but now I thrive this way.
